Scott, T. (2017). Travis Scott - BUTTERFLY EFFECT (Official Music Video). [online] YouTube. Available at: https://youtu.be/_EyZUTDAH0U.
In this video they have used a colour changer effect. I like this effect because it makes the video look very different and more interesting then it being the normal colours.The. effects in this video fit the song very well because the song is very chill and so is the effects.
Mars, B. (2017). Bruno Mars - That’s What I Like (Official Video). [online] YouTube. Available at: https://youtu.be/PMivT7MJ41M [Accessed 14 Dec. 2020].
In this video the creator uses the scribble effect to emphasise dance moves and make them stand out.I like this effect because it is very simple to do but looks professional and adds alot to the video. This effect matches the upbeat music a lot.I know how this effect is done because we have practised in class.

In this music video the editor animation of shapes and colour to create a very interesting and creative i really like this effect because is makes the music video look very modern and very hard to recreate. i think they have used animation in this video because it fits the music because they can move the shapes and objects better then on normal film.
Kimbra) (2011). Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra) - official music video. [online] YouTube. Available at: https://youtu.be/8UVNT4wvIGY [Accessed 19 Mar. 2020].
In this music video they use a really nice sketch effect i think that this fits the music very well because it has a free roam of whatever the music artist wants to have in the video.
Gabriel, P. (2012). Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer (HD version). [online] YouTube. Available at: https://youtu.be/OJWJE0x7T4Q [Accessed 14 Dec. 2020].
In this music video they use add a steam train moving round the singers head. This fits the lyrics in the song because when they use this effect the artist is singing about trains. This effect is done very well and looks extremely difficult.
I really like this Abstract music video because of the way they have the figure singing throughout the whole video the thing i like most about this music video is the way they have used the double exposure effect on the figure and put images in they have also used a cloning effect on this figure this is an intersting effect.
In this music video it is almost like a miniture film.To do this they have made each shot tell a different part of the story. This isn't a very modern music video therefore doesn't have many advanced effects.

1.
From reading the lyrics I can see that this song is about him having his heart broken. The themes of this song is drugs and love. The tone is very sad.The theme suits the song very well think they have used the the lighting to catch the viewers eye to the main character.I don't think the music video has a clear narrative.I think there is a lot of link between the music video and the lyrics.
2.The editing in the music video is very in time and very crisp. The relationship between the visuals and the music are very interesting the edits are very well thought through with lots of special and visual effects included.I think the tone of this music video is soul reaching the shots the producer does are very unique.
3.The genre of this music is rap.For this type of music the exceptions are that the music video will be violent and about sex money or violence but in this video it's about having his heartbroken.
Toliver, D. (2020). Internet Money - Lemonade ft. Don Toliver, Gunna & Nav (Dir. by @_ColeBennett_). [online] YouTube. Available at: https://youtu.be/0opZqh_TprM [Accessed 14 Dec. 2020].
In this music video it is more about money and assets.I know this because he talks about having so much money and he also has a big chain around his neck.
A similarity between the two music videos could be they both include very unusual characters such as in lucid dreams them use a woman who looks dead or very ill.
and in the lemonade video it starts off with a weird looking girl that is yellow.
4.
In the music video the artist represented as traumatised we can tell this by the lyrics and the emotion of the song.In the video they have focused on his face specially his mouth I think they have done this to to show that he is sad in the video.I don't think the artist is objectified in the video. The music video creator has focused on alot of headshots in this music video.I think this is because the music video is about someone being stuck in there head and they cant get he cant get her out of his head. Therefore they have done alot of headshots and also added the scene where his head is through the floor.
5.I don't think there is much Voyeurism in this music video. This has the effect of making the music video look very sad.
6.This video makes me feels like very weird.I don't think there are any major references. This video is very unique and I have never seen anything like it before.
Director Poster idea
1.The director will have to manage the whole shoot and come up with the concept of this shoot. They will have to make sure that they solve problems if things go wrong for example if they have a shoot planned for outside and it starts raining they will have to come up with a solution on the spot to make sure that the money spent on the music video doesn't go to waste.
2.The equipment they will need is a good quality camera, some form of lighting a computer and editing software, backup dancers or actors if needed, stunt person if needed, sound equipment,Camera men, runners, props.
3.The skills needed to become a music video director are being organised this is very important because the director job is to manage time and have everyone in the right place at the right time.Another skill that is good for a music video director is having fast thinking.
4.The qualities of a music director is being likeable if the music director is likeable and good at producing music videos then the artists will tell there friends about the director therefore the director will get more jobs
Job description
The music video director that we are looking for is someone who can problem solve very well and is good with people this is important to us because we need the director to be able to make contacts in the music industry so that we can have more business for the company.
can you rap like me - Trippie redd
This is in the top 3 because its easy to find a clean edit and its short but would have good ideas for it.
No role Modelz-J Cole
This is in the top 3 because the song wont get annoying over the months we are doing it.
NIC-Nines and Tiggs da Author
This is in the top 3 because its a good genre and the song isn't too long.

Slides-In these slides it describes how they shot a video without the artist who never showed up to the music video shoot.
The first slide shows how they shot the intro and how the star showed up 5 hours late and then left without shooting anything.
The second slide shows the mini cars and how they have to have a outline of young thug because he didn't show up.
the next few slides they talk about how they improvised making the video because of the problems they encountered.
The final slides are focused on the media picking up the story about how he didn't show up for his own shoot very quickly.
This treatment is very good because they have problem solved very well and very quickly.
Concepts
Concept 1
The good thing about this concept is that it will be easy to accomplish but I think could still look okay. The issue with doing this would be it maybe too simple and won't look as good as some harder music videos to film.
Concept 2
The good thing about this concept is that it will look very good but it will be very hard to film safely and have the cars ready at the same time.
Proof of concept/location shots
This photo shows the first shot which will be someone having fallen asleep.I think im going to use some sort of editing to make sure the viewer knows
This photo is the second shot which is where the camera follows someone whilst they lip sync.
This shot is the shot of someone walking down the stairs whilst rapping.
This is the shot of someone rapping outside.
Producer
A producers job is to take control of the pre production side of the production The main tasks for a producer is to select the script; coordinating writing, directing, and editing; and
arranging financing
Production Designer
Production designers are responsible for the visual concept of a Music video. They identify a design style for sets, locations, graphics, props, lighting, camera angles and costumes, while working closely with the director and producer.
Cinematographer
A cinematographer or director of photograph (also known as DP or DoP) is responsible for the development, look and feel of the images which make up the final film. Cinematographers work closely with directors, the camera crew and lighting department to get the right frame, lighting and mood for a film or TV programme.
Director
A directors job is to control the crew and make sure everything goes to plan. Some of the main key Tasks for a director is to cast the members of the crew and to oversee everything from the Pre-Production to the final edit.
The Role I think I am most suited to is the director. I think this because I will be good at Organising the plan and production
I think that there are some correlation between the lyrics and the visuals especially with the visual effects I have added. The themes of these lyrics are very oriented around trying to show off I think that this is some what a theme in my music video because the idea of our video was to have someone rapping about what they have in a dream. This also gives the listener the impression that maybe the rapper is dreaming and hasn't got everything it says in the song this adds a narrative to the video.
In this screenshot you can see that I have added an effect when the main character is drifting of into the dream this adds a deeper connection with the lyrics.
2.
The song we have chose to do the music video on is very powerful.I think that the edits are very in time with the music for example when the beat drops for the first time I have made a cut to the next clip to make the video flow better then if I was to make a cut off beat.
This title also appears when the rapper sings "can you rap like me?"This shows the correlation of the music video and the lyrics.
3. Can you rap like me is in the genre of hiphop/rap.The expectations of the audience of this genre of music would be young and reckless however in many cases this is untrue.
The mise-en-scene of these two shots are very similar. Both of the main focus of the music videos walking down a school corridor rapping.I think that this Is common in rap videos because the association with school and rappers are that they don't like school and often don't go.
4. The artist is represented in my music video as aggravated. The main element that I think gives this interpration is the fact that he fell asleep during a class. The main aspect of the music video that we focused on was the dream effect. The artist in our music video is not objectified I don think that it would fit the genre and the song if the main actor was objectified.
5.There is no voyeurism in my music video.I don't think that this would be very appropriate considering the music video is set in a school.
6. I think that in our music video there are many references to other music videos.mainly there are lots of references to videos like nowadays by lil skies that is also set in a school. The narrative is very similar to a lot of rap videos but I haven't seen any with the concept of a dreaming in class. This influences the impact of the video because the viewer may have seen something like it done by a different artist that they listen to so they will have more of a connection to this music video and music.
Look back on how well you did or did not perform as part of a team and within your own production role during the course of making your music video, and answer the following questions on your blog:
A. Give one example of where you feel you contributed most effectively towards the successful completion of your music video. How were you able to support your team-mates to produce their best work?
During production of the music video we had a team member absent so I decided that I would be the full focus of the music video I think this helped the team a lot considering the group we had to film didn't want to be on camera.
B. Based on your performance in the unit, what would you say is the biggest area that you need to work on individually to develop as a media practitioner? How did this negatively impact on your work?
I think that the biggest area I need to improve is editing. Although I enjoy editing it is a very hard skill to be good at I feel that I could have done better in the edits of the music video. If I was to re do this project I would have researched the effects I wanted to use and tried them before editing the video. This would have improved my final edit a lot because a few of the edits I wanted I didn't have enough time to add in.
C. Identify THREE possible targets to develop your practice. What can you do to ensure you are developing and your work is improving?
I want to start editing everyday to practice different styles and effects. To do this I am going to set myself the goal of watching a tutorial everyday and trying to replicate the effect a week after without the tutorial until I can edit from memory.
The second thing I want to improve is my camera skills. The way I am going to improve this is by using my tripod and camera to take pictures and videos every week.
The final way I want to improve is by watching videos about different media creators and learning how they do things. This will help me learn in all areas of media.
